Everything you need to know about Burn
A Fire Pit channel is a designated trap channel on your Discord server. When any user sends a message in a Fire Pit, Burn automatically takes action - this can be a softban (kick and message cleanup), permanent ban, or just message deletion. It's designed to catch trolls, spammers, and users who don't read the rules. You can customize the action, add warning messages, and even require moderator approval before permanent actions.
Yes! Burn offers a generous free tier that includes up to 3 Fire Pit channels, basic content detection, softban/ban actions, death counter tracking, role whitelisting, and more. For servers that need unlimited Fire Pits, advanced content scanning, custom message templates, and moderator confirmation workflows, we offer a Premium tier at $4.99/month.
Burn includes a built-in content detection engine that runs locally on our servers. It can identify common spam patterns, self-promotion attempts, malicious links, and other unwanted content without relying on external services. The free tier includes basic scanning, while Premium unlocks advanced detection capabilities. All scanning happens in real-time with no noticeable delay.
Absolutely! You can use the /whitelist command to add roles that are completely immune to Fire Pit channels and content scanning. This is perfect for protecting your moderators, admins, VIP members, or any other trusted roles. Whitelisted users can send messages in Fire Pit channels without triggering any actions.
When a user sends a message in a Fire Pit channel, Burn immediately deletes their recent messages in that channel and takes the configured action. For softbans, the user is temporarily banned and then immediately unbanned, which clears their recent messages. For permanent bans, they're removed from the server. Burn can also send them a DM explaining what happened, and if configured, provide an invite link to rejoin (for softbans).
The confirmation system (Premium feature) adds a human review step to Fire Pit actions. When triggered, Burn times out the user (preventing them from interacting) and sends an alert to a designated moderator channel. Moderators can then review the case and choose to either execute the punishment or release the user. This gives you full control while still providing immediate response.
Yes! Premium users can fully customize both the pinned warning message in Fire Pit channels and the DM sent to punished users. You can use dynamic variables like {user} (mention), {user_tag} (username), {deaths} (death count), {server} (server name), {channel} (channel mention), and {action} (action taken). Different channels can have different messages.
Burn can automatically rotate Fire Pit channel names to keep them looking fresh and tempting. You can use our preset name pools or create custom lists. Chaos mode generates completely random names. The channel warmer feature periodically sends and deletes messages to keep channels looking active. These features help maintain the effectiveness of your traps.
Yes! Burn works across as many servers as you add it to. Each server has its own independent configuration. Premium users can even sync settings between servers, making it easy to maintain consistent moderation across server networks or communities.
